Information stored on your device
Explore Lahore stores the following information locally on your device to make app features work:
- Favorite places you save
- Recently viewed places
- Itineraries you create, including itinerary names, stop order, and time slots
- Visited-place history, including saved visit dates
- A cached copy of updated place data if a newer guide-data file is downloaded for your build
- Ad-consent choices and cached fonts used by the app and its SDKs
- The first-open time and a one-time in-app review request flag
This information is stored in local app storage, including a local on-device database. We do not require you to create an account to use these features.
Information sent off your device
1. Advertising and consent on Android and iOS
Explore Lahore uses Google Mobile Ads to show native advertisements in selected parts of the app on Android and iOS. The app also uses Google's User Messaging Platform consent flow when required so users can review or update ad-related privacy choices.
On iOS, the app may request App Tracking Transparency authorization before refreshing ad consent so Google can apply the user's tracking choice to ad relevance and measurement. Declining tracking prevents access to Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), but does not by itself remove ads or stop all advertising-related processing. Eligible ads and privacy-preserving attribution may continue under the applicable consent signals.
When ads are requested, displayed, measured, or when consent is managed, Google and its partners may process information such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers where permitted, IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, diagnostics, consent status and ad interaction data under Google's own policies. Ad requests proceed only when Google's consent SDK permits them; a consent message is not necessarily required in every region. We do not control how Google processes that information once it is collected by Google's services.

2. Guide-data refresh
The app's core place data ships with the app. The current app also checks a remote HTTPS manifest hosted at mishmash-labs.github.io for a newer place-data file. If a newer version is available, the app may download that updated guide data and store it locally on your device.
These requests are HTTPS file fetches used to refresh Lahore place content. They do not require account creation or sign-in and do not upload your favorites, itineraries or visit history. GitHub and its hosting infrastructure necessarily receive technical request information, such as your IP address, and may retain access logs under their own policies.
3. External links
Some place entries include links to Google Maps, official websites, Instagram pages, or Facebook pages. When you tap one of these links, you leave Explore Lahore and open a third-party service. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
4. Sharing features
If you choose to share a place or an itinerary, the app passes the selected content to your device's system share sheet so you can send it through another app of your choice. What happens after that depends on the app or service you choose to share with.
5. Fonts and app updates
The app uses Google Fonts. If a required font is not already available locally, the font library may download it from Google's font-hosting services and cache it on your device. Those requests expose technical information such as your IP address to the receiving service; they do not include your saved places or itineraries.
On Android, the app may check for and download available updates through Google Play's in-app update service. Google Play processes the technical and store information needed for that service under its own policies.
6. In-app reviews
After at least one week of use, the app may request a native Google Play or Apple App Store review once. The first-open time and request flag remain in local app storage. The relevant store handles the review under its own privacy practices; Mishmash Labs does not receive your store-account details or whether you submitted a rating through this request. Saved places, itineraries and visit history are not included in the request.
Platform permissions and SDK configuration
The Android app currently uses these permissions:
android.permission.INTERNETto load ads, fonts and remote place-data updatescom.google.android.gms.permission.AD_IDfor Google advertising services on supported Android devices- On iOS, the app does not request location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library permission. Google Mobile Ads uses the iOS app identifier and SKAdNetwork configuration included in the app bundle for ad delivery and measurement.
The app does not request runtime permission for device location on either platform.
What we do not collect directly
Explore Lahore does not include first-party account registration, user profiles, direct messaging, payments, or a dedicated analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Mishmash Labs does not sell your personal information. The advertising-related processing described above is separate from your local guide records.
We do not directly collect:
- Your precise device location through app permissions
- Contact lists
- Photos or media library content
- Camera or microphone recordings
- Payment card information
Data retention and control
Your local app data remains on your device until you remove it. You can control that data in several ways:
- Remove saved favorites in the app
- Delete or edit itineraries in the app
- Remove visited-place entries in the app
- Clear the app's storage through your device settings
- Uninstall the app from your device
Cached guide-data files and fonts may also be removed if app storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled. Operating-system backups and files you shared elsewhere may remain; manage those copies through the relevant device or service.
Ad-related and consent-related data handled by Google is subject to Google's own retention practices.
You can review available ad privacy choices through the app's Privacy choices entry point when Google's consent SDK requires it. You can also allow, deny or change App Tracking Transparency authorization in iOS Settings. These controls do not delete records already held by third-party providers.

Third-party services may process information outside your country under their own privacy notices. For more details, see:

Explore Lahore is a general-audience travel and discovery app. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through first-party account features because the app does not include those features.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect app changes, release changes, legal requirements, or third-party service updates. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
